'Richard Jewell' Recognizes a Forgotten Hero

Are you reading what I’m reading about the movie, Richard Jewell? I think the critics are getting it all wrong and I think I know why.

Here’s my 60 Second review of this Clint Eastwood film that premieres on 12/13.

It’s a quick review because we like to give you a quick yes or no on whether or not you should spend your hard-earned money on the every-increasing costs of movie tickets.

Although you could easily wait for DVD on this one, it is definitely worth watching. And I urge you not to read into any sort of political agenda with this film. It’s the story of Richard Jewell, an overweight security guard whose quick action resulting in a significantly reduced number of lives lost at the 1996 Atlanta bombing at Centennial Park.

As the movie reveals, Richard Jewell’s only crime was fitting the psychological profile of someone who could have planted a bomb. This true story reveals how quickly a man can rise to hero and quickly fall from grace under the scrutiny of mass media.

Although he was completely exonerated of any suspicion, his life was turned upside down and, some would argue, never fully recovered.

Excellent performances throughout including the lead role played by Paul Walter Hauser with Kathy Bates as his mother, Bobi. Sam Rockwell, Olivia Wilde, and Jon Hamm all lend amazing supporting performances.

This is my quick review of this movie but if you want to see me really fired up, be sure to check out my full video review and my detailed written review of the film.
